The three units went through the various phases of construction in succession, so while first two apartment-style units opened just days before the start of classes last week…the last one wasn’t ready yet. CSC Director of Facilities Blair Brennan says the last of the construction work was completed this Monday.
The students who’ll be moving into the third Eagle Ridge unit have been doubling up in other rooms or staying with friends.
Meanwhile, Brennan…who is also the school’s Construction Project Coordinator for the Rangeland Complex, the Chicoine Events Center, and Eagle Ridge…says work is continuing to move ahead steadily on the second phase of the Rangeland Complex…which will be the new home of the school’s ag and wildlife programs.
Brennan says the next phase of construction will start almost immediately after the foundation is finished and cured.
The Rangeland Complex is to be open next fall and Brennan says prime contractor Sampson Construction wants to have the exterior completed before winter arrives.
Phase two of the Rangeland Center includes classrooms, labs, offices, and the college herbarium. Phase one, the Coffee Agricultural Pavilion indoor arena, opened a little less than a year ago.
