An open house and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held this afternoon (Thursday) at the recently opened Panhandle Cooperative Association near County Road 61 and Madison Road two miles northwest of Alliance.
Company President Bob Pile of Scottsbluff says the new plant can handle 12,000 tons of storage of liquid fertilizer.
He says the facility has increased efficiency. Pile says the train unloading facility allows 65 rail cars of liquid fertilizer to be unloaded in 15 hours.
Today’s open house at the Panhandle Cooperative northwest of Alliance will run from 4 pm to 7 pm with the ribbon cutting ceremony at 5 pm.
Construction on the facility began in June of 2013.
