The annual event encourages community wellness by challenging entrants to swim, bike and run…either individually or with team members.
It’s not a competitive event, and is for participants of all skill levels who can choose between a short course and a long course.
The long course consists of five lengths in the park pool…1-10th of a mile…7 miles of biking on the park’s roads, and 3.5 miles of running over the park’s trails. The short course consists of 3 pool lengths or about 1-20th of a mile, 2 miles of biking and a 2-mile run.
Try-Athlon entrants who do not want to do all three stages may join with one or two other team members and split the duties accordingly.
The Try-Athlon starts at the Chadron State Park swimming pool at 3 p.m., with check-in beginning at 2 o’clock. Advance registration is not required, but there is a $10 fee.
Entry forms and other information may be found at chadronwellness.com, with additional information also available by calling Western Community Health Resources at 308-432-8190.
