Minion shelfFall classes get underway at Chadron State College today. Also beginning today are a series of programs and activities intended to help new students get more familiar with the campus and community.

Among those is Minion Madness, this year’s business community scavenger hunt for students, faculty, and staff.

Coordinator of Student Activities Laure Sinn says the items being sought this year at various businesses and campus locations are pictures of Minions, the tiny yellow assistants from the Despicable Me animated movie series.

Minion Madness will awarded prizes to participants. Sinn says the actual competition is easy because the only thing that’s needed is documenting each Minion found with a picture.

Sinn says the Minion theme is also being tied to the importance of a college education and Chadron State College.

In connection with Minion Madness, CSC is again hosting Uptown on Campus this Wednesday. It has businesses and civic organizations set up booths in the Student Center from 10-1:00 to let students learn about the businesses and groups, and what they do and what they offer.

Nothing will be sold during Uptown on Campus, but Sinn has urged the businesses and groups to offer giveaways and drawings…suggesting that they require the winners to pick up their prizes at the business itself.
