CITY OF ALLIANCE ACTIVITY REPORT — SAT., AUG. 16

– Sky View Golf Course will be hosting the Parker League Tournament on Sunday, August 17.  Please call the golf course at 762-1446 for details.

–  The City of Alliance is accepting applications for the positions of Electric Journey Line Worker, Apprentice Line Worker, Public Safety Dispatcher and Airport Maintenance Worker I.  For complete job descriptions, please access the City of Alliance website at www.cityofalliance.net.

– Swimming season is coming to a close!  Big Blue Bay will close for the year on Sunday, August 17 at 6:00 p.m.

– United Way will be sponsoring its third annual Doggie Splash from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 17 at Big Blue Bay.  Bring your canine friend to the pool at 6:00 p.m. to register for the fun!  Due to health code guidelines, pet owners will not be allowed in the water with their dogs.  No admission fees will be charged, however a free will offering to the United Way will be accepted.

– The Friends of the Library will be conducting their Semi-Annual Used Book Sale at the Alliance Public Library on Tuesday, August 19 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for members only and 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. for the general public; Wednesday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; and Thursday, August 21 from noon until 5:00 p.m.

 – School begins next week and the City of Alliance would like to remind motorists to be aware of the reduced speed of 20 mph in school zones from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

– 12th Street between Sweetwater and Missouri Avenues is closed for concrete street replacement.  Please exercise caution while driving near the construction area.

– New stop signs have been installed at the intersections of East 4th Street and Grand Avenue and West 11th Street and Big Horn Avenue.  The new signage will be marked with flags for extra visibility.

– The Alliance City Council will conduct a regular meeting on Tuesday, August 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the Board of Education meeting room.  Complete agendas and minutes may be found on the City’s website.

– The Alliance Senior Center located at 212 Yellowstone will feature live entertainment by Larry Holub and Rachel Lewis on Friday, August 22 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
