A good night Thursday in Lincoln for KCOW Radio at the Nebraska Broadcasters Association’s annual Awards Banquet, as KCOW earned a gold award in service to community and a silver award in commercial production.

Jason Wentworth and Kalin Krohe were on hand to receive the honors at the Cornhusker Hotel.

The Silver Award in Commercial Production was for this commercial which ran earlier this year for Kloch’s Liquor in Alliance. It was produced by Jason, Kalin and Mike Glesinger.

The gold award in service to community was for a series of five announcements promoting the Knight Museum and Sandhills Center as a valuable research entity on Alliance History. The announcements were produced by Jason Wentworth, however, no voices from KCOW were utilized, but instead, members of the community. Here are the  five announcements that ran last fall.

The contest entries were  judged by out of state radio broadcasters.  It should be noted that KCOW competed against radio stations from across the state, including those in the Lincoln and Omaha markets.
