A change of plea hearing has been scheduled for late August for a former Alliance man facing a federal charges of possession of child pornography and receipt and distribution of child pornography.

The Alliance Times-Herald reports in Thursday’s edition that 65-year-old Jim Parks is scheduled to appear in court August 27.

Seven felony counts of Possession of Child Pornography were filed in October, 2013, in Box Butte County against Parks. The charges were filed after a four-month Nebraska State Patrol investigation. The local charges were dismissed when federal charges were filed on February 21, 2014.

Parks had originally pleaded not guilty to all charges.
