KEYSTONE, S.D. (AP) — A girl was taken to a hospital with minor injuries after a 12-year-old boy crashed his parents’ sport utility vehicle into a gift shop at a tourist attraction near Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says the boy was sitting in the running SUV when he shifted gears and crashed into the Rushmore Tramway Adventures building about midday Wednesday. The 8-year-old girl was standing nearby and suffered cuts from flying glass.
Authorities do not plan to file any charges in the incident.
Damage to the building is estimated at between $2,000 and $3,000.
