Chadron State’s Glen Clinton and Kattie Ranta are the school’s 2013-14 winners the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Honor Student-Athlete Awards for outstanding achievement in both academics and athletics.
The RMAC annually recognizes one male and one female athletes from each of its member institutions with the student-athlete awards. The names of the CSC honorees are currently hanging in Armstrong Gymnasium.
Both Clinton and Ranta were exemplary team leaders and students.
On the field, Clinton was an All-American and Harlon Hill finalist in 2013 as he rushed for 1,518 yards and scored 14 touchdowns as a senior. He finished his career with 4,656 rushing yards, the second-most in school history.
Ranta, a senior from Rapid City, South Dakota, had a fine season for the women’s basketball team. She averaged 17.8 points and 9.2 rebounds in 26 games for the CSC women and was named All-RMAC and All-Nebraska for the second-straight season.
She currently has a 3.52 GPA in physical education and health as she prepares to do her student teaching in the fall semester.
