POLICE IN L.A. RECOVER MILEY CYRUS’ STOLEN LUXURY CAR
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Police in Los Angeles have recovered the 2014 Maserati swiped from Miley Cyrus’ home last week. Authorities say the car was recovered yesterday afternoon in Simi Valley, a city about 45 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Detectives are searching the car for evidence — but so far there’s no new information about the two people who are suspected of taking the car from Cyrus’ home. Police say a man and a woman scaled a fence and got into the house and garage while no one was home Friday. The car and an undetermined amount of jewelry were stolen from the home.
CHRIS BROWN RELEASED FROM JAIL
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Chris Brown is a free man again. The singer was released yesterday from a Los Angeles County jail. Brown had been in custody since mid-March, when he was arrested after being expelled from a court-ordered rehab stint for violating its rules. And last month, a judge ordered Brown to stay in jail after admitting he violated probation by getting into an altercation outside a Washington D.C. hotel last October. That case has yet to be resolved. Brown’s probation case stems from his guilty plea to the 2009 beating of Rihanna, his girlfriend at the time.
DAVID ARCHULETA IS BACK
UNDATED (AP) — Season 7 “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta has posted a video to say, “I’m still alive.” Archuleta was on a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and returned in March. He’s posted a video saying the mission changed his approach to music. He says after spending two years helping others, Los Angeles freaked him out because he found it to be self-centered. Archuleta says he’s working on new music and plans to use “hidden gems of people” in Utah to help him make it.
TRENT REZNOR STAYING WITH BESTS BY DRE
NEW YORK (AP) — The frontman for Nine Inch Nails will continue to moonlight as an official with Beats By Dre. Trent Reznor has tweeted that he is still the company’s chief creative officer. Last week, Apple bought the headphones and streaming music company for $3 billion dollars. It was unclear at the time whether Reznor would follow Beats founder Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine to Apple. Reznor has been with Beats since January, 2013.
