The 40-19 Nebraska baseball team is in Oklahoma, getting ready for its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2008. The Huskers are the #2 seed in the Stillwater Regional and open play Friday morning at 11:00 MT against the #3 seed, Cal State Fullerton.
The regional is a double-elimination affair, so Nebraska will play again Saturday win or lose against either regional host Oklahoma State or Binghampton (NY). Saturday’s games will match the two winners and two losers from Friday.
Nebraska and Cal Fullerton have not played this year, but the Titans are 6-0 all-time against the Huskers including a 4-0 sweep of a series last year in Fullerton and a 5-4 win at the 2001 College World Series…Nebraska’s first-ever appearance in the CWS.
Friday morning’s game at OSU’s Allie P. Reynolds Stadium, named for the New York Yankees star pitcher of the 1940s and 50s, will be shown live on ESPNU and streamed live on WatchESPN.
