SUGARLAND’S KRISTIAN BUSH WORKS ON SOLO PROJECT
ATLANTA (AP) — Kristian Bush of Sugarland is planning a solo album. Bush says he’s got nearly 300 songs that he’s written in the past two years. He’s been posting some of them every Monday for the past year on his website. Bush says he’s whittled those 300 songs down to 15 and hopes to cut that down to 12. A release date has not yet been set.
EDDIE MONTGOMERY MARRIES
UNDATED (AP) — Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry says he’s had an interesting last few days. He tweets he married his girlfriend, Jennifer Belcher. He also says he got hit by a tornado. He posted a photo of what looks like debris and part of a roof in a patch of mud.
CMA MUSIC FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FREE CONCERTS
NASHVILLE (AP) — Big and Rich, Dan and Shay and Uncle Kracker are among the acts who will play for free on the riverfront in Nashville during the CMA Music Festival. Other performers include Kristian Bush of Sugarland, Wynonna, Kellie Pickler, Terri Clark, Billy Ray Cyrus, Clay Walker, Darryl Worley, Lorrie Morgan and Pam Tillis, Lonestar, Gloriana, Love and Theft, Craig Morgan, Collin Raye and “The Voice” winners Cassadee Pope and Danielle Bradbery. The CMA Music Festival runs June 5-8.
”TODAY” SHOW ANNOUNCES SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
NEW YORK (AP) — Mariah Carey will kick off the “Today” show’s concert series. She will play on the May 16 show. The concerts run every Friday through the summer. Other performers include Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Pharrell Williams, Sara Bareilles, Train, Fall Out Boy, Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Hudson, Aloe Blacc, Neon Trees, Maroon 5 and Usher.
JIMMY BUFFETT WILL PLAY A DRIVE-IN
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Jimmy Buffett is planning a concert at a drive-in, and you can see it from other drive-ins. Buffett will play at the Coyote Drive-In in Fort Worth, Texas, on June 19. The concert will be beamed live to drive-ins across the country. A list of participating drive-ins will be updated tomorrow at Margaritaville.com, with more added in the coming weeks.
