JASON ALDEAN PICKS HONORARY BAT GIRLS

UNDATED (AP) — Jason Aldean will help choose the honorary bat girls as part of Major League Baseball’s breast cancer awareness program. Aldean is part of a panel who will choose an honorary bat girl for each of the 30 major league teams. The bat girls will be recognized at games on Mother’s Day or another game in May.

BLAKE SHELTON, LUKE BRYAN TO APPEAR AT iHEARTRADIO AWARDS

NEW YORK (AP) — Pharrell, Drake and Blake Shelton are among the A-listers set to perform at the first iHeartRadio Music Awards.

Clear Channel announced Monday that Kendrick Lamar, Shakira, Ed Sheeran and Arcade Fire will also take the stage at the May 1 awards show in Los Angeles. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Lorde and Coldplay’s Chris Martin will make appearances.

Contenders for artist of the year include Rihanna, Maroon 5, Justin Timberlake, Imagine Dragons and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.

The awards will air live on NBC from the Shrine Auditorium starting at 8 p.m. Eastern.

Luke Bryan, Pitbull, Ariana Grande and Thirty Seconds to Mars will also perform during the three-hour telecast.

”THE VOICE” GOES TO THE LIVE SHOWS

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Kristen Merlin from Team Shakira got a standing ovation from the entire room on “The Voice,” even though no one could hear what she was singing. Her microphone went out during her performance of “Stay” but she kept singing anyway. Adam Levine says if it was him, he would’ve been in a puddle o f his own nerves. Usher says he would have wet his pants if he tried to hold a note as long as Audra McLaughlinfrom Team Blake did. Blake Shelton says Christina Grimmie from Team Adam, Tess Boyer from Team Shakira and Josh Kaufman from Team Usher are the artists to beat on each of those teams. Two of the top 12 will be eliminated tonight.
