Susan HinesThe spring 2014 Graves Lecture Series at Chadron State College wraps up Tuesday at 8:00 pm in the Reta King Library with a presentation by associate vice president of Teaching  and Learning Technologies Dr. Susan Hines.

Although it will be April Fool’s Day, Hines will address a serious subject: the virtues of change. Her talk is titled “Change is God: Thoughts on Life, Work, and Moving to Nebraska.

A Southerner by birth and a Southern Californian by choice, Dr Hines arrived in Chadron a few days after the devastating Winter Storm Atlas blizzard.

That wasn’t as much of a shock as it might seem since Hines spent 4 years in Anchorage while earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska.

She says she was glad that her newly-purchased Chadron home was undamaged, but immediately headed for the nearest hardware store and bought the last snow shovel in stock.

The Graves Lecture Series is free and open to the community in Room 108 of the King Library. It will also be available online via live streaming at csc.edu/live.
