William D. Cler, 71, died Monday, March 10, 2014 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. He was born in Scottsbluff on September 23, 1942 to Jake and Christine (Schnell) Cler.
He is survived by his son, Donald of Hemingford, his sister, Darlene Carmody of Plano, TX and his brother, Harold. Bill retired from BNSF Railroad as an engineer. He had lived in Mitchell, NE for the last 15 years. His hobbies included working on cars, gardening, cooking and oil painting.
Graveside services will be Monday, March 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Veterans State Cemetery at Alliance Foundation, P.O. Box 902, Alliance, NE 69301 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
