Unzicker will succeed Dixie Nelson, who is retiring March 31 after eight years on the job.
A graduate of Minden High School and Joseph’s College of Beauty, Unzicker has served as the chamber’s assistant director and finance director for the past five months. Her past experiences include working as an administrative assistant and paraprofessional in the Kimball Public Schools and the Mitchell Public Schools; a teller at Pinnacle Bank in Mitchell; and owning and operating a beauty shop in Kearney.
Susan and her husband, Troy, have one daughter, Tabitha, who is a senior at Alliance High School.
“Building relationships will be a top priority inside and outside of the Chamber office,” she said. “ I have learned to work as part of a team during my years of employment experience. I look forward to the work of our team as we build the best hometown in America.”
An open house to meet Unzicker and to thank Nelson for her years of service to the chamber will be held Friday, March 28, from 10 am to 5 pm at Box Butte Central at 305 Box Butte Avenue.
