Box Butte General Hospital (BBGH) was recently awarded at the 14th Annual Healthcare Service Excellence Conference in Las Vegas, NV, February 3-5, 2014. The conference association, in partnership with Custom Learning Systems, the leader in on-site training for patient satisfaction and patient experience, celebrates hospital achievements in improving the quality of service to patients, the quality of work life for healthcare professionals and the performance of healthcare organizations.
The Summit Awards are a North America wide recognition program that includes 17 categories, with three Pinnacle recipients and one Summit Achiever chosen from each. Pinnacle and Summit achievers are chosen form nominations submitted from hospital’s across the continent.
BBGH Laboratory Manager Gail Burke, MT, was awarded the prestigious Super Coach Summit Award. The Super Coach award recognizes Ms. Burke for providing exceptional leadership, encouragement, and guidance to Service Excellence Advisor teams throughout the hospital.
Brian Lee, CSP, founder of the Healthcare Service Excellence Conference, said that “The Summit Award is our highest award of excellence. It is awarded only to highly qualified, innovative, and progressive individuals, and healthcare facilities that have made outstanding progress improving the patient experience and staff engagement.”
Additional Pinnacle Achiever Award achievers from BBGH for 2013 were Kelli Dahlberg for Exceptional Service Excellence Advisor (SEA); and Nancy Scherbarth, LPN, for Exceptional Nurse.
Ms. Burke joins seven other Summit Award winners at BBGH that have received the honor in previous years: Kim Galyen, Exceptional Nurse 2010; Exceptional Service Excellence Council 2010; Kitty McKee, Exceptional SEA 2011; The Rehab & Wellness Center Exceptional Medical Clinic of Choice 2011; Brian Kuhn, Exceptional Employee 2011; Tammy Suit, Exceptional Service Excellence Mentor 2012; and Timmy’s Trio, Exceptional SEA Team 2012.
In addition to the above mentioned award, BBGH came in first place in the Team Bragging Video Awards showcasing their facility, team spirit, and Service Excellence experience.
