JAMIE LEE SPEARS ON RECENT PAST
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Jamie Lynn Spears says she found herself as a mom before she was able to find herself as an artist. The singer and songwriter says over the past few years, she keyed in on being a mother when her daughter was born. She says she “took about a year off to focus strictly on her.” Then, she says she moved to Nashville with her child and started writing songs. She says she fell in love with the process of putting her thoughts and feelings on paper — then singing them. She says she feels “able to share” her music now because she feels more comfortable as a recording artist. And yes, in case you were wondering, Jamie Lee is Britney’s sister.
JUSTIN BIEBER’S AIDES ACCUSED OF STEALING PHOTOGRAPHER’S CAMERA
SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. (AP) — It’s one way to get the paparazzi off Justin Bieber’s tail — but it’s a method that isn’t police approved. Authorities near Atlanta have arrested the security guard and driver for pop singer Justin Bieber — and charged them with stealing a photographer’s camera. A police captain in Sandy Springs, Georgia, says Bieber was at an entertainment complex north of Atlanta when the incident took place. In a statement, he says bodyguard Hugo Hesney confronted a photographer because he thought he was getting too close to The Beeb. Police says the bodyguard and driver followed the photographer to a parking lot and swiped his camera. The two were arrested as they arrived at a house Bieber is renting in the area. Police say Bieber himself was not involved in the incident.
JUSTIN BIEBER’S POLICE TAPES
MIAMI (AP) — Those police tapes taken of Justin Bieber after he was arrested in Miami Beach will be the subject of a court hearing today. The singer’s lawyers have until this afternoon to object the release of the video taken on January 23. Some of the 10 hours of video show Bieber providing a urine sample for a drug test. The singer’s lawyers want those parts of the tape redacted — and the judge and media companies have agreed. The judge has allowed additional time for Bieber’s lawyers to go through the rest of the tape to see if they want to try to block other parts of it. Bieber was charged with driving under the influence, resisting arrest and having an invalid license. He has pleaded not guilty.
ONE DIRECTION THREAT CALLER SENT TO PRISON
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A New Jersey man will spend eight months in federal prison for calling in a phony bomb threat to a venue hosting a One Direction concert. Federal prosecutors in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania say William H. Klein was sentenced after pleading guilty yesterday to a charge of interstate communication with threat to injure. The threat was called into Hersheypark Stadium to threaten the facility if the boy band performed last July. The call was traced to a pay phone at a 7-Eleven in Northfield, New Jersey — and surveillance footage helped identify the suspect. The show was held, after security was increased.
