Organizers of the Chadron Putt A-Round (PAR), a minature golf fundraiser on holes created in participating local businesses, say the 3rd annual edition was a big success.
Spokesman Terri Haynes says the competition last Saturday saw 39 teams, each with 5 members, play holes at 13 businesses. Haynes says the businesses once again used great ingenuity and creativity to come up with interesting and fun challenges for each hole.
Taking again this year were the “Five Deadly Sins”…Karl and Louanne Witt, Neil Bradford, Ephram Bradford, and Don Matt. Their victory brought them $400 and free entry into next year’s contest.
Placing second and winning $300 were “The Chamber Bogey Makers”…Philip Jensen, Toni Heiting, Karen Snook, Jim Mapes and Dwayne Gardner.
The third place team was “Who’s Your Caddy” with Clint Norman, Shane Norman, Derek Ginn, Tim Metz, and Andrea Franklin. They won $200.
Best Team Costume was the “Clowns and Amigos”. The low individual score was Tim Barkley and low designated driver score was Louanne Witt.
Proceeds from this year’s Putt A-Round went to support youth golf programs in the area as well as the Chadron Middle School Playground Project.
