Cardinal Key and Blue Key, the two national honor societies at Chadron State College, have inducted 27 new members…9 for Cardinal Key and 18 for Blue Key.
Selections are based on a combination of scholarship, leadership, and character with both groups placing a strong emphasis on community service.
Membership, limited to just juniors and seniors, is considered one of the top honors at Chadron State.
Four of the new Cardinal Key members are from Nebraska: Justy Bullington of Mullen,Abby Gibson of Springview, Jennie
Robbins of Mitchell. and Cathryn Zentner of Cairo.
Three are from South Dakota: Stephanie Bailey of Rapid City, Cheyenne Deering of Wall, and Amy Deichert of Spearfish. The other two are Samantha Eickleberry of Damar, Kan., and Erika Roybal of Denver, Colo.
Ten of the new Blue Key members are Nebraskans, 7 of them from the Panhandle…Jonn McLain and Zac of Chadron, Alex Coon of Bayard, Cameron Cardwell of Scottsbluff, Jake Murphy of Harrison, Ryan Parriott of Bayard, and Jonathon Wohlers of Crawford.
The other Nebraskans…Evan Baker of Ord, Kyle McCarthy of Aurora, and Derek Powers of Arthur…are joined by a pair of Wyoming residents…Lucas Kaufman of Torrington and Jacob Rissler of Gillette…along with Coleman Ahrens of Palmer, Alaska, Cody Roberts of Trinchera, Colo., and Ryan Carden of San Diego.
The Blue Key inductees also include 3 international students: Jorge Flores of Tegucigalpa, Honduras; David Vilmar of Abaco, Bahamas; and Daler Abzhavarov of Tajikistan
