A Community Based Juvenile Services Task Force meeting will be held Tuesday, December 31 at 9 am at the office of Maria Swenson in the Heritage Six Mall in downtown Alliance.
The purpose of the meeting is to identify needs of Box Butte County youth that have been identified with having had problems with the law or are at risk of doing so. Evidence based solutions are required the by Nebraska Crime Commission before the grant is awarded.
The meeting is open to any individual associated with youth; including mentors, law enforcement, and school personnel.
The meeting input will assist in applying for a $31,279 grant that will be used to evaluate the effectiveness in preventing persons from entering the juvenile justice system and in rehabilitating juvenile offenders.
For more information contact Brenda McDonald at the Alliance YMCA at 762-2201 or Janelle Hansen at Panhandle Public Health in Hemingford at 487-3600.
