SEVEN EAGLES EARN RMAC CROSS COUNTRY ALL-ACADEMIC ACCOLADES

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Seven members of the Chadron State College men’s and women’s cross country teams have been placed on the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic Honor Roll.

To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30, be a starter or key reserve, and have completed at least two semesters at his or her school.

The Eagles have five selections on the women’s team, all sophomores.

Ashley Appelt of Ainsworth has a 3.68 GPA in general studies, Sarah Townsend from Douglas, Wyo., has a 3.67 GPA in biology, Angie Schafer of Rapid City, S.D., has a 3.70 GPA in science, Jayme Nunes from Alliance, has a 3.72 GPA in elementary education, and Rebecca Volf  of Wood River, has a 3.92 GPA in family and consumer science.

Two Eagles made the men’s Honor Roll. Doug Harris, a sophomore from Las Vegas, NV, has a 3.46 GPA in business administration, and Alex Johnson, a senior from Kearney, has a 3.47 GPA in psychology.

The RMAC Women’s All-Academic Runner of the Year is Adams State’s Kelly Lamb and the Men’s Runner of the Year is Western State’s Vegard Olstad.
