MISS ALLIANCE/MISS PANHANDLE OUTSTANDING TEEN PAGEANT SUNDAY

ALLIANCE –The Miss Alliance’s/Miss Panhandle’s Outstanding Teen pageant is set for Sunday, December 8th at 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. The teen pageant is open to all female Nebraska residents who are at least 13 years old and no older than 17 and in 11th grade. Admission is $5 per person, 5 and under are free.

This year six young ladies from across Nebraska will be vying for these titles. These young ladies include Shaniah Freeseman of Gordon, BreaHanna Harlow of Bridgeport, Alexis McGlone of Mitchell, Aubree Noble of Chadron, Merrilee Prill of Kearney, and Cherokee Purviance of Alliance.

The Outstanding Teen pageant is under the Nebraska Outstanding Teen Competition, which is held under the Miss America Organization. It is designed to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America’s teens.

Contestants will be judged based on interview, talent, sportswear, evening wear and on-stage question. There will also be a separate overall community service competition, audience choice award and Miss Congeniality voting that do not count in the overall scoring. A silent auction fundraiser will also take place during the
pageant.

The winners of the Miss Alliance’s and Miss Panhandle’s Outstanding Teen titles will receive paid entrance to the state pageant held in North Platte in June 2014. They will then compete for the title of Nebraska’s Outstanding Teen. The winner of the state pageant will compete for the title of America’s Outstanding Teen.
