The 5-member outside assessment team that has been in Chadron since Sunday on an accreditation renewal visit to the Chadron Public Schools wraps up its work today.
The team from AdvancEd, formerly the North Central Association, will release its preliminary reaccreditation report at a public meeting at 3:30 in the Chadron High School Auditorium.
Traditional accreditation is on a school by school basis, but Chadron is working on a district-wide renewal where all the buildings, central office, facilities, and other factors are considered together.
Chadron Superintendent Dr Caroline Winchester is confident the outside assessment team will recommend a 5-year renewal, but says it’s been good having the team in regardless of the outcome.
During its visit, the assessment team observed classes in all 4 Chadron schools and met with the school board, administrators, and various stakeholder groups.
