This is International Education Week and the Chadron State College Office of International Education and the school’s International Club are joining forces today and tomorrow for a pair of free events marking the week.
Tonight, members of the International Club will perform musical and dance numbers from their cultures at 6:30 in the Student Center Ballroom while tomorrow night at 6:00 club members will offer interesting facts about their countries in the Student Center Bordeaux Room.
Countries that will be represented include Burma, China, Congo, Ethiopia, The Gambia, Honduras, Mail, Nepal, Serbia, Singapore, Taiwan (China), Thailand, Tunsia and Vietnam.
Club President Doris Liang, a CSC student from China, says both events are opportunities for the campus and community to celebrate the benefits of international education.
CSC Market Development Project Director Tamsyn Carey says “International Education Week is an excellent way to celebrate and recognize our international students that hail from all corners of the globe and provide such a rich, diverse social and cultural viewpoint to our community.”
Carey also says everyone in the area…faculty, staff, students, community members, schools, businesses and organizations…are invited to attend both event to learn more about the various cultures and customs of the students at CSC.
