Goldie Irene Bridge was born on April 1, 1927 at Page, Nebraska to James H. and Almira S. (Harvey) Bridge and was the 6th of 7 children. She spent her summers during high school working for her sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Viggo Clausen, at their café in Rushville. Goldie graduated from Spencer High School at Spencer, Nebraska in 1944 and married Harlan Larsen on July 3, 1946 in Olympia, Washington, as Harlan was in the Army and stationed at Ft. Skateland became a very popular place on Friday nights and weekends and to this day, many people still talk about skating at Skateland.
Goldie loved gardening, sewing, embroidery and crafting of all kinds. She loved and enjoyed all 12 of her grandchildren and her and Harlan made sure that every grandchild knew how to skate as soon as they were walking.
