Welcome to the City of Alliance Activity Report:

– Box Butte Avenue will be closed between 3rd Street and 10th Street on Saturday, November 9th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.for the Veteran’s Day Parade.

– The City of Alliance would like to salute our employees John Kiss, Joe Digmann, Dusty Bryner, Tim Peterson, Forrest Hickman, Brandy Dahlberg, Earl Winter, Mike Hulquist, Troy Shoemaker, Chuck Reed and Larry Heinrich who have proudly served their country in the armed forces.

– Congratulations to Ashley Carr, Regan Lambert and Kari Carr for their winning entries in the Alliance Public Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

– The City of Alliance Refuse Collection Department would like to remind customers that residential dumpsters are designed for common household trash only.  Please do not place appliances, furniture, concrete and other demolition materials in waste containers as this causes damage to the refuse collection trucks.  Items not intended for household waste containers should be taken directly to the landfill.

– Two new stop signs have been installed on Big Horn Avenue at 12th Street which will assist in pedestrian safety in a school zone.  Please be aware of this change while driving in the area.

– The Alliance Public Library Foundation Board of Directors will be hosting an Open House at the library on Thursday, November 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Final bidding will take place for the Bountiful Book Basket, entertainment will be provided by Karena Soriano and the raffle ticket winner of the Kindle will be drawn.  Pie, coffee and apple cider will be served.
