Thursday night, the Alliance City Council gave first round approval to rezoning the land which will occupy the new Studavents Auto Parts building from C-2 to C-3.

City Manager J.D. Cox says the rezoning will allow Sturdevant’s to construct a parking lot near the front of their store at 114 East Third Street.

The old Sturdevant’s building was recently demolished and the land is now being prepared for a new structure.

In other action, Cox says the Council voted the city recommend to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission approval of a liquor license for a new Steakhouse that will open in the former Elms Restaurant building near the intersection of Flack Avenue and East Third Street.
