The Alliance Times-Herald reports in Wednesday’s edition that a Box Butte County Grand Jury has returned a No True Bill in the death of county jail inmate Kyle Stairs.

The 31-year-old Stairs died while in custody on July 11.

The No True Bill means it was determined that Stairs did not die as a result of criminal action by law enforcement.

County Attorney Kathleen Hutchinson, the special prosecutor in the case, stated that the cause of death was fentenyl toxicity. Stairs death was ruled accidental as Stairs was reported to have to much of the pain killer Fentenyl in his system.
