RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) — Author and buffalo rancher Dan O’Brien will be one of the featured speakers Saturday at the Museum of the American Bison in Rapid City.
The celebration is part of National Bison Day.
O’Brien wrote “Buffalo for the Broken Heart: Restoring Life to a Black Hills Ranch,” a story about how he returned buffalo to his land after an absence of more than 150 years. He’s the owner of retailer Wild Idea Buffalo.
Other events Saturday include a buffalo chili cook-off, a feather painting demonstration and Native American dancers.
