Halloween, 2013 in Alliance.

– Carve, paint, glitter, glue … anything goes at the Alliance Public Library Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Pumpkins and Funkins will be accepted and displayed Friday, October 25th through Halloween! Winners will be selected on October 31 in four age groups: K-3rd; 4th-6th; 7th-12th and adults.

– The Alliance Chamber of Commerce is again promoting downtown trick or treating. Children are encouraged to come downtown on October 31 from 3 pm to 5 pm. Participating businesses are asked to hang a poster in their front window where it will be visible for children. For more information, contact the chamber at 762-1520.

– Box Butte General Hospital will sponsor “Trunk or Treat” on Halloween afternoon from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Big Blue Bay Swimming Pool Parking Lot in Alliance. Children will receive several goodies and treats from BBGH staff. Trick or Treat bags will be provided.

– The Evangelical Free Church in Alliance will host their annual Halloween Candy Carnival on Halloween Night from 6 pm to 8 pm at the church, 611 Cody Avenue.

–  The First Presbyterian Church at 515 Emerson should be one of your trick-or-treat stops on Halloween, October 31!  Stop by between 5 pm to 7 pm for a safe, family friendly place to pick up a treat! No tricks here – just TREATS!

– Trick or Treaters will be out and about the streets of Alliance, so please drive with care. Children are advised to carry some sort of flashlight and wear light-colored clothing. Daylight Saving Time does not end until 2 am on Sunday, November 3, so sunset on Halloween will be around 5:45 pm.

If you have a Halloween event you would like promoted, please post the information in the comments section.
