CSC VB 13 Schmitt setALAMOSA – Adams State’s Deprece Washington had 16 kills to lead the Adams State volleyball team to a 25-18, 20-25, 25-17, 25-21 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory over Chadron State Saturday.

The Eagles will host their next three matches at home, beginning with Tuesday’s non-conference tilt against South Dakota School of Mines.

Washington and Letisha Spencer, who had 12 kills, and Megan Tapia, who had nine kills, provided much of the scoring punch for the Grizzlies. Gabriella Riffilato added 36 set assists, nine digs and five kills and Adams State had 12 total team blocks and limited the Eagles to a hitting percentage of .015.

Barbie DeCent led CSC with eight kills, Erika Roybal and Nikki Schmidt each had six and Jessica Jester finished with five and served three aces and assisted on five blocks.

Schmidt also had a team-high 15 set assists and added seven digs.

Defensively, Alyssa Bauer paced the Eagles with 13 digs and Brittany Oddo had 11.
