fosketIlo E. Fosket, 84, died Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at her home in Alliance with her family by her side.

She was born in Alliance on February 28, 1929 to Boyd and Ruth (Wait) Boren.  Ilo graduated from Alliance High School in 1947.

On September 7, 1950 she was united in marriage to George F. “Bud” Fosket.  They operated their own ranch near Alliance until her husband’s passing.

Ilo attended the United Methodist Church and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America, National Order of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames and the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Craig) Anderson of Wood River, NE, her son, Michael (Jennifer) Fosket of Mitchell, NE, her grandchildren, Wendy (Tony) Fritzler of Alliance, Shad (Tina) Fosket of Grand Island, Derik Grimes of Alliance, Cara (Torrey) Odenbach of Taylor, Dr. Adam Anderson (Dr. Kelly Russell) of Valentine, NE, Lindsy Grimes of Rapid City, SD and Cody Fosket of Mitchell, her great-grandchildren, Rhegan and Creighton Fritzler, Chance and Karlea Fosket and Tea’ and Kolton Grimes.  She is also survived by her sister, Sharon (Frank) D’Louhy of Omaha and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Carolyn Grimes, her son, George “Tuffy” Fosket, Jr., her sister, Helen (Richard) Henderson and her brother, Raymond Boren.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with Jeanie Sedivy officiating.  Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery.  Visitation will be Sunday from 1-5 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.

The family would prefer in lieu of flowers that memorials be given to the United Methodist Church, 704 Box Butte Ave., Alliance, NE 69301 or Prairie Haven Hospice, 2416 Box Butte Ave., Alliance.
