Elsie Irene Wacker, 87, of Hemingford, passed peacefully, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Box Butte General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Elsie was born March 20, 1926 at Gaylord, MN to Henry and Elma (Rohrick) Honstein.
She married Rudolph Wacker on February 10, 1946 in Minatare, NE. To this union was born 7 children, Sherry (Gary) Craig, Jim Wacker, Rick (Carol) Wacker, Pat (Bruce) Dobry, Mike (Rhonda) Wacker, Brian (Susan) Wacker and Elizabeth Wacker.
Elsie worked beside her husband of 62 years raising their family and working the land. She was an excellent seamstress, altering and sewing for many establishments and individuals in Box Butte County.
Her survivors include 6 children, 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 brothers, Harry (Helen) Honstein of Hay Springs, Floyd (Ruth) Honstein of Cheyenne, WY, and Ronnie Honstein of Lyman, her sister, Lorraine (Bob) Thomas of Mitchell and brother-in-law, Leo Wacker of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, infant daughter Elizabeth, a grandson and great-grandson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Hemingford Congregational Church with Pastor Jim West officiating. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home in Alliance on Friday from 1-7 p.m. with the family being present from 5-7 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Hemingford Congregational Church.
