The Nebraska Department of Economic Development kicked off a series of 5 meetings over 3 days on the state’s grant and investment Innovation programs today in Ogallala and Sidney. There will be meetings tomorrow in Scottsbluff and Alliance with one Friday in McCook.
DED business innovation manager Joe Fox says the agency wants to get out the word that the state has funding available to support start-ups and small businesses, especially in technology-related fields.
Joining Fox on the trip is Dan Hoffman, CEO of Invest Nebraska, who will also talk about how the state’s programs are encouraging and supporting the transfer of technology and innovation in both rural and urban areas to encourage entrepreneurship and create high growth microenterprises and businesses.
Each of the meetings runs two hours. Today’s in Sidney begins at 2:00 at the Points West Bank, while tomorrows are 9-11:00 at the Scottsbluff/Gering United Chamber of Commerce board room and from 1-3:00 at the Alliance Library-Learning Center.
