The Box Butte County Sheriff’s Department and the National Drug Enforcement Administration will sponsor a prescription drug take back day this Saturday, October 26 from 10 am to 2 pm. Unwanted or expired prescription medications as well as over-the-counter drugs such as aspirin, may be taken to the Sandhills Room at the Box Butte General Hospital Medical Arts Plaza.

Sharps such as needles and diabetes lancets will be accepted from individuals, but not from agencies such as veterinarian clinics or nursing homes.

Also, no lotions, vitamins, or fish oil supplements.

While the event is held in Alliance, it is open to anyone from any community wishing to dispose of unwanted or expired medications.
