The Chadron State College volleyball team came tantalizing close to getting its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference victory of the season Saturday at home, but came up just short against Fort Lewis.
The Skyhawks did sweep the Eagles, but none of the sets were decided by more than 3 points…25-22, 25-23, 26-24…and the match featured 16 ties and 5 lead changes. With the win, Fort Lewis improves to 5-11 on the season and 5-5 in the RMAC. CSC drops to 3-14 and 0-8.
Fort Lewis hit .225 as a team behind Ashley Wells, who had 13 kills, and Madi Bickle, who added 10.
The Eagles are back in action at home again next weekend, hosting Western New Mexico on Friday night and New Mexico Highlands on Saturday.
