CSC FB POWCHADRON – For the third straight week, Chadron State College has claimed both Nebraska NCAA Division II Football Player of the Week honors.

Safety Ryan Wood and quarterback Jonn McLain  earned the award for their play in the Eagles’ 35-13 victory Saturday at Western State.

Wood, a redshirt freshman from Stockton, helped lead Chadron State’s defense – the Eagles allowed the Mountaineers just 258 yards – in its impressive performance. Wood had five total tackles, an interception and defended a pass.

McLain, a junior from Chadron, completed over 75% of his passes (22 for 29) for 242 yards and two touchdowns. His long completion of the day was a 43-yard TD strike to Cody Roes.

The Eagles are home this week for just the second time, hosting Adams State in the Homecoming Game Saturday afternoon at 1:30.
