He was born in Alliance on April 29, 1947 to Loren and Marjorie (Gould) Osborn. Ron lived all of his life in the Alliance and Hemingford area. He graduated from Alliance High School in 1965. He served in the U.S. Army from July 19, 1966 to July 18, 1968.
Ron was a retired machinist for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Route 385 Cruisers, Eagles Club and the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local #602.
He is survived by his sons, Sherman and Anna Osborn and Randy and Teri Osborn of Alliance, his grandchildren, Lindsi and Dylan Osborn of Alliance, Alyasa Horton of Alliance, Alexa Osborn of Rapid City, SD and Gavin Osborn of Alliance, and his great-grandson, Isaiah Osborn. He is also survived by his brother, Larry (Pat) Wallace of Gering and his sister, Marjean (David) Garett of Kennesaw, NE and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be Friday, September 6, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel with Jeanie Sedivy officiating. Inurnment will be at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance.
Memorials may be given to the Route 385 Cruisers, P.O. Box 765, Alliance, NE 69301 for their college scholarship fund or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
