Linda L. (Gresens) Hammond, 65, passed away peacefully on Aug 26th, 2013 at 6:05 PM at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE from a sudden illness.
A longtime resident of Council Bluffs, IA, Linda was a 1968 graduate at Hemingford High School in Hemingford Nebraska, and was preceded in passing by her mother Pauline E. (Curry) Gresens, her father Roy L. Gresens, & her younger sister, Karen I (Gresens) Richardson all of Hemingford, and her husband Virgil Hammond of Council Bluffs, IA.
Born May 9, 1948 in Rochester, New York the Family moved to Alliance NE when she was in the 7th grade. She was a certified first responder and long time member of the VW collectors group in the Council Bluffs area.
Linda is survived by her sister Victoria Gresens of Anchorage AK, Brother’s Mark Gresens of Alliance and Retired Chief Petty Officer United States Navy, Roger Gresens of Aurora, CO, Nephew’s Mike Gresens of Houston, TX, Retired Chief Petty Officer, United States Navy, Bill Gresens of La Mesa, CA, Matthew Gresens of Worthington, OH, Bill and Jeremy Norton of San Diego, CA, and Archie Ship of Brighton CO.
A Celebration of life and graveside service will be Friday Sept 6, 2013,at 1:00 p.m. at the Hemingford Cemetery. Rev. Don Mink, officiating.
Memorials may be given to the Indian Mission Church in Alliance, NE. or to your favorite charity in her name.
