Camp Norwesca, just south of Chadron State Park, holds its annual BBQ this Saturday, Sept 7, but the event is much more than that as it offers food, fellowship, and fun from 10 am to 8 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for kids 5-12.
The festivities begin with muffins and coffee for those coming the morning, continues through burgers and brats at noon, and a chili supper at 6:00. There’s plenty to do besides eat; there will be a Bounce House for kids, a Hayrack Ride around the camp, assorted games, a watermelon-eating contest , and live music. It’s also a great opportunity to see all the recovery efforts from last year’s wildfire.
The Camp Norwesca BBQ is the primary fundraiser for its camping program, providing scholarships to young people who might otherwise not be able to experience a Christian camping experience,
Donations are most gratefully welcome throughout the year, helping support not only the camping program but also the other programs and projects provided at Camp Norwesca year-round.
