LOS ANGELES (AP) – Friends don’t put their friends out there when they slip up. And Selena Gomez says Taylor Swift is her friend. So Gomez, naturally, isn’t saying much about what Swift may – or may not – have said when One Direction made its appearance at Sunday’s Video Music Awards show.
It appeared that Swift uttered a curse word when the group took the stage – not a surprise since she used to date Harry Styles and has a history of publicly dissing her exes. But when asked about the incident at the premiere of her movie “Getaway” on Monday, Gomez wasn’t giving anything up. Asked directly by one reporter about what was said, Gomez responded: “don’t try that with me.”
She also said “girls need to be more supportive of each other” and that she is protective of her friends. She says Swift is someone who “doesn’t care what people think” and that she “inspires” her.
