The Chadron school district is hosting a strategic planning meeting tonight that Superintendent Dr Caroline Winchester is calling a Dream Team session because participants will asked to contribute their dreams for the district.
Winchester began an on-going strategic planning effort shortly after becoming superintendent 3 years ago that focuses on achievable goals and projected finances.
She says the Dream Team approach complements that effort by asking participants to offer goals and “dreams” for the district and its schools that aren’t tied to finances or other constraints.
Winchester says the idea is to open the thought process to new possibilities that might trigger projects or programs in the future as technologies and conditions change.
Winchester and the school board are inviting all Chadron school district patrons to take part in tonight’s planning session, but says representatives of other area entities will also be taking part…much the same as with the Dawes County Joint Planning group.
The Dream Team master planning meeting begins this afternoon at 5:30 in the Chadron Public Schools central office.
