The Nebraska Department of Roads is coming to Chadron tomorrow (Tuesday) with an Open House on the planned repaving of Highway 20 through Chadron, a project that will tie in with the city’s downtown storm sewer upgrade.
District 5 engineer Craig Lind says the project will consist of full-width reconstruction of the existing urban roadway…which is also 3rd Street through Chadron.
Lind says the project would begin just west of the intersection of Pine Street and West 3rd Street and run about a mile east to the Spruce Street intersection. Construction could begin as early as spring of 2015 and be completed as early as fall of the same year.
The Open House runs from 4-to-6:00 pm in the Chadron City Council Chambers. It’s a drop-in session with no formal presentations, but NDOR staff will be on hand to answer questions, receive comments, and discuss any aspect of the proposed highway improvement project.
Information on the project will be available after the meeting by going to the NDOR website at www.transportation.nebraska.gov/projects/ and clicking on the “In Chadron-Pine to Spruce” link
