NEW YORK (AP) — Justin Timberlake has a shot at taking home a handful of Moonmen at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards — to add to the seven he already owns. The singer is up for six nominations. His clips for “Suit & Tie” and “Mirrors” are up for best male video, best pop video and best collaboration among other categories.
Also holding six nominations: Macklemore and Ryan Lewis — the unlikely duo with the catchy hit “Thrift Shop.”
Bruno Mars has four nods. Video of the Year will be a competition between “Mirrors,” ”Thrift Shop,” Mars’ “Locked Out of Heaven” as well as Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” and “I Knew You Were Trouble” by Taylor Swift.
The VMAs are set for August 25 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
