Hemingford and the Box Butte County Fair will host Governor Dave Heineman on August 6.

The Governor will be the featured speaker during the dedication ceremony of the new livestock pavilion, set for Tuesday, August 6 at 11 o’clock in the morning.

The Governor’s office states that the Governor is impressed with the cooperative agreement between the Box Butte County Ag Society and the Hemingford Public Schools, as the facility is also used as a bus barn during the school year.

The Hemingford Public Schools have agreed to help fund the building to the tune of $160,000.

Another $300,000 has been donated or pledged to the new building, and a Raise the Roof final push promotion is currently underway, which is sponsored by WESTCO and Mobius.

The Box Butte County Fair runs August 4-11.
