The Nebraska State Patrol’s Troop E used an on-going grant aimed on impaired driving during special events around the Panhandle to conduct special traffic enforcement operation during the Crawford PRCA rodeo on July 4th and Chadron’s Fur Trade Days July 12th and 13th.
The Dawes County initiatives saw 35 motorist contacted with one individual arrested for drunk driving and 4 individuals cited for not using either seat belts or child safety seats. Violations included speeding, failing to signal a turn, driving left of center, and lights that didn’t work.
The next local celebration to receive a special traffic enforcement effort will be the Sheridan County Fair in Gordon, with additional troopers slated to be on hand later this month on the 26th and 27th.
