“We really wanted to make our uniforms more player friendly,” CSC defensive coordinator Jeff Larson said. “Nike’s form-fitting jerseys provide a tight fit while still moving with the player’s bodies well and all of the guys who have seen them are pumped.”
The Eagles will wear two Nike modified beast game jerseys – a cardinal top with gray numbers outlined in white for home games and a white top with cardinal numbers outlined in gray for road contests. The sleeves are capped on both the home and away jerseys.
“One of the biggest things we wanted to do with the uniform was to add gray to bring out the gray in the college’s logo and to reflect on the jersey style when Coach (Jay) Long played.”
Long, who will be entering his second season as the Eagles’ head coach, played in the late 90s when Chadron State’s jerseys featured gray numbers.
The home pants will also be gray with cardinal side panels, while the away pants are cardinal with gray side panels. The pants also have a mesh insert making them more breathable and an integrated belt, Larson said.
The Eagles, who went 9-3 last fall and reached the NCAA Division II playoffs for the 8th time, open this season with a pair of road games: Sept. 5 at Missouri S&T and Sept. 12 at Dallas Cowboys Stadium against West Texas A&M. They’ll unveil their new home jerseys on Sept. 21 against Colorado Mesa University.
