NORMAN, Okla. (AP) – As Garth Brooks put it, “The healing starts today.” Brooks was one of the headliners for Toby Keith’s benefit concert Saturday to raise funds for victims of the May tornadoes in Oklahoma.
The sold-out show at the University of Oklahoma in Norman also featured Willie Nelson, Ronnie Dunn, Trisha Yearwood, Mel Tillis, John Anderson and Sammy Hagar. The Tulsa World reports Brooks joked his favorite song to sing is “Friends in Low Places” because he doesn’t have to sing it. Hagar said Keith was his nomination for man of the year. Keith changed his song “Red Solo Cup” to “Red Sooner Cup” and said the day was “all about love.”
