Brewer will give a speech Sunday evening at 7:00 at Vine Congregational United Church of Christ in Lincoln, which will be free and open to the public.
Brewer is also planning to meet with Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman to talk about alcohol sales in Whiteclay, the unincorporated Sheridan County community bordering the Pine Ridge Reservation.
The four Whiteclay stores with alcohol licenses sold the equivalent of some 4-million cans of beer last year, most of it to residents of the reservation…where alcohol is banned.
Activists say the beer stores contribute to social and health problems on the reservation. President Brewer has taken part in anti-alcohol protests in Whiteclay since taking office last December.
